Blue Daylilies

(Gossard, J) TET ( Delta Blues x tetra Crystal Blue Persuasion )

28" EM Evergreen emo fr 3 1/2" 4 way branching 18 buds. Fertile both ways.

BABY SMURF is a blue daylily with a creamy pink flower with a large deep blue eye zone. The throat is very deep green. The eyezone is very intense blue, the most saturaed deep blue which I have seen in a daylily. Several shades of blue end with a deep maroon edge. And if that is not enough it has a small gold edge on petals and a rose pink rim on the sepals. Sepals also carry the pattern, but are hidden in this photo. It has been a tremendous parent for hybridizing for blue dayliles. It is producing much larger sunfast blue patterned kids than itself. Lots of conversions in Blue Desire such as Tetra Crystal Blue Persuasion, Tetra Elfin Etching, Tetra Blue Moon Rising, Tetra Janice Brown, Tetra Siloam Virginia Henson and Tetra Priscilla's Smile. Baby Smurf is a break through in blue breeding at the tet level. Baby Smurf is northern hardy in my zone five garden.
